Granada Airport (GRX) is situated 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from the city. It is a relatively small airport, mainly for domestic air traffic. Iberia provides scheduled daily flights to and from Madrid and Barcelona. There are also budget flights to and from destinations in England , Germany , France and Italy.

With normal traffic, it takes about half an hour to go from the airport to the city center. You can go either by taxi or by bus, which of course is cheaper. The bus leaves roughly on the hour but will generally be hitched up to a plane arrival.

As an alternative you can fly to Malaga Airport (AGP), where there are many international flights daily to and from most destinations in Europe, and even to and from destinations in the USA. At Malaga Airport you can hire a car and drive to Granada, it takes a couple of hours from  Malaga Airport  to Granada by the motorway. The motorway takes you through some beautiful and typical Andalucian landscapes.
